Sharing the excitement and beauty of God’s creation,

In 2019 a friend of ours from Germany came to visit. She brought along her camera and we planned to take photos of lighthouses along the coast of Lake Michigan that October. I had a Canon Rebel t3 with an inexpensive 100-300mm lens. My favorite photo from that trip was of a very common bird, the Ring-billed Gull, with an out-of-focus South Haven lighthouse in the background.

I have always had a fascination for birds. My parents bought me a pair of Peach-faced Lovebirds when I was young and the love for them grew. That Ring-billed Gull stirred something in me. I came home and started looking into “birding” and what did that entail. I found apps, FB groups, websites and I was hooked. I had taken a liking to photography when I took a photography class in high school eons ago. That October two passions collided. It was a time in my life I needed something for myself. Our one and only son was now a young man and I no longer could carry the title of a stay-at-home mom. It was definitely an answer to prayer for that time in my life and it’s been a blessing and gift from God.

Birds are still my favorite, but I love all wildlife, except for snakes, and all forms of nature. This last year (2023) I discovered the fascinating world of macro. The love seeing and exploring the details.

I love to travel and see new species. And when I get a good photo out of it, it’s the icing on the cake.

My heart and goal is to share with others the beauty of God’s creation and the excitement of seeing something beautiful and new.

Thank you for checking out my page. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
